Privacy Policy
We collect the least we can, use it only to help you prepare, and never sell it. Here's exactly what that means.
Last updated 19 June 2026
This policy explains what personal data Law Mock (a De Facto IAS product) collects, why, and what control you have. We've written it to be understood, and we aim to follow the principles of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
What you give us
Your email address when you register, and any message you send us. That's the core of it.
What you create
Your mock attempts, answers and scores — so your dashboard can track progress and show weak subjects.
What's automatic
Basic technical data (device type, approximate region, pages visited) to keep the Platform working and improve it.
Why we use it
- to create and secure your account and let you sign in;
- to save your attempts and generate your subject-wise analytics;
- to send you account and (if you opt in) digest emails you can unsubscribe from anytime;
- to fix bugs, prevent abuse, and understand which content helps aspirants most.
We use your data only for these purposes — not for advertising profiles.
We don't sell your data
Full stop. We don't sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Platform (for example, secure hosting and email delivery), under confidentiality obligations, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is active. Ask us to delete your account and we'll remove your personal data, except anything we must retain for legal or security reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything inaccurate;
- delete your account and associated personal data;
- stop sending you marketing emails (every digest also has an unsubscribe link).
Use our contact form and we'll act on genuine requests promptly.
Security & children
We protect data with reasonable technical and organisational measures, though no system is perfectly secure. The Platform is meant for exam aspirants; if you're a minor, use it with a parent or guardian's involvement.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date shows the current version. See also our Cookie Policy and Terms of Use.
